2010 Grads Carry the Flag of Sustainability

For three days in July, Austin Mam, Naida Suazo, Stephanie Ortiz-Ortiz and Kadian Vanloo (class of 2010) joined 20 students and 120 teachers at the Sustainability Education Summer Institute at Islandwood on Bainbridge Island. They attended workshops, produced public service announcements, performed original music and explored avenues for student engagement in environmental health, social justice and economic opportunity.

These students are continuing the work in sustainability that they began at Explorer West, which earned them the scholarships to attend the workshop.
